Heart is a Message
03:38
|
|||
Heart is a message, heart is an angel, inside of you
Heart is a mind, heart is a well, heart is true
Keep your heart tuned, and life will not find you too blue
Walk in the city, walk in the garden, the colours come
Look at them beautiful, look at them shining and through your hands
Heart is a language, heart is a song
Heart is a message, heart is an angel, inside of you
Heart is a mind, heart is a well, heart is true
Keep your heart tuned, and life will not find you too blue

The Obituary Lied
02:52
|
|||
Take my picture off the table
I tell you the obituary lied
It wasn’t like that, let’s have a little chat
I never built that bridge to the sky
Take the flowers out of the water
I tell you the obituary lied
I never once broke through, and made love true
I was just an ordinary guy
I’m packin’ my dreams and haulin’ them home
I tell you my father was breakin’ my bones
My mom in the kitchen with a guy named Jones
And the new moon rise
Take the sugar out of the coffee
I tell you the obituary lied
I was never that sweet, I was working the street,
Pretending to the world that I could fly
I’m packing my dreams and haulin’ them home
I tell you my job was breakin my bones
My wife in the kitchen with some new Jones
And the full moon cries
Now you’ve heard my story
And I’ve got to take that ride
Don’t try to be a hero, you’re just a zero
But the moon… yeah that old moon …
the moon is made of apple pie
And brother the obituary lied

Love is a Disaster
03:21
|
|||
Love is a disaster
Even the strongest man is felled
Everybody needs some loving
Everybody needs to be held
We all start out innocent
Then it's like the strongest drug
Love is a disaster
Love pulls out the rug
Try me, I will be true
At the risk of being false
Try me, I'll say I love you
Let's take this little waltz
I can see you've been there before
That's why I'm asking you
Love is a disaster
Please oh please
Please oh please
Please oh please
Open up your door

Skinny's Lament
02:41
|
|||
I ate out at a neighbour's house
We fed ourselves on soup and crackers
My love ate up the telephone
Now I'm afraid to open the window
Tell me, if we eat up all our vegetables
Well what about the animals
Should we eat up all the animals too
Oh please tell me
Won't we use up all the gravity
The way the heavy ones step so hard
The skinny ones fall right through
I gave my love too much to eat
I gave my love the kitchen table
I gave my love so much to eat
That now our house gets smaller and smaller
Smaller and smaller
Smaller and smaller
Smaller and smaller
Smaller and smaller
oh yeah

Blood in the Rock
02:48
|
|||
There is silver, there is gold
There are diamonds, there is oil
And there is blood, there is blood,
There is blood in the rock
You can take the silver, you can take the gold
You can take the diamonds, you can take the oil
But you can’t take the blood, you can’t take the blood
You can’t take the blood from the rock
Blood of our oceans, blood of our land
Blood of the air that we breath
Blood of our children, yet to be born
Blood money, blood of our greed
There is me, and there is you
What is precious, what is true?
What does it take, what is the cost?
To stop the blood in the rock
Because there is silver, there is gold
There are diamonds, there is oil
And there is blood, there is blood
There is blood, in the rock

A Few Lines

Life is not rational, an affair of the heart
It cuts to the quick, so deep and so sharp
What use in opinions, about the way that it should be
Look to the chance, look to the living
Must I accept guilt for perceiving intentions
Must I be responsible for maintaining an armour
In the dance of relation we are seldom so careful
Though we learn to find safety in knowing the poison, love
Love is not faint of heart,
Come on now lover we've just reached the hard part
Love is not faint of heart
Come on now lover put your will in the fire
I see you I breath you I sense you your feelings
Impressions that I take home are all just mistakes
I use them for shaping and planning tomorrows
But you never turn out as a product of my thinking
Come and look at this view, is it not a high elevation
By digging a tunnel we've come out on a mountain
To go one direction you may go in another
It is and it isn't, anyway, I surrender, my love

After the Last Great War
04:35
|
|||
This train it don't sing no more
It don't stop no more, we have closed the door
This sweetness we are on the floor
Riding on the floor, what is it for
Oh lend me a smoke
Oh lend me a hand
I'll look out by the window
At this beautiful land
That man he will not let up
No he cannot stop, I think he used to be a cop
That man he is spinning out thoughts
I do not think, he will ever shut up
Oh give me a light
Oh give me your hand
I'll go to sleep in a moment
While you dream up a plan
That last town was harsh
I think we're better off, in the dark
Those people didn't speak sense at all
Everybody nodded, and everybody went along
But bright is the dawn
After the truth is dissolved
So it ain't no glory train
After all, after all
This train it don't sing no more
It don't stop no more, we have closed the door
This sweetness, we are on the floor
Riding on the floor, what is it for
What was it for? "What was it for?"

Harmony
03:51
|
|||
The moon paints the cloud
She paints him with her light
Oh how very wise, for the moon to let
The cloud be in the sky
The cloud floats on the wind
The moon has her own flight
But together, together,
How very wise, to be
In harmony
A single voice that knows the melody
Can make a part that sets the other free
To sing, through the changes
For some who don’t look up
It’s just another night
For some who do, the heart
The heart has taken flight
The cloud is breaking up
Still he frames her silver throne
Together, we can learn
Not to be alone, but to be
In harmony
A single voice that knows the melody
Can make a part that sets the other free
To sing, through the changes
The moon paints the cloud

Monkey in a Well
01:26
|
|||
Monkey, in a well
Butterfly lands on the monkey's tail
Monkey looks at the butterfly's wings
The butterfly's wings,
Monkey, in a well
Monkey, starts to think, hmmm,
This isn't like the one that came last week
Cause that one had blue spots but this one's different
This one's different
Monkey, starts to think
Monkey makes a sound
Lepidoptera monarchus in glorium
The universe splits but remains the same
Remains the same
Monkey, makes a sound
Monkey, in a well
Lepidoptera lands on the monkey's tail
But monkey he's thinking about his problems at the office
His problems at the office
Monkey, in a well

The Cathedral
02:36
|
|||
The grocer said he was a father, and it was father’s day
Then he rattled his chains on the counter, and we pretended, to look away
Routine chains, on a routine man, on a routine day
And I fell on my knees to pray
The hotels were all booked up, and we hadn’t a place to stay
Then we found one way overpriced, and I finally allowed us to pay
But I didn’t know you were planning, to leave me anyway
On a routine night, in a routine town, the desk staff joined hands with the maid
And we fell on our knees to pray
Now the full moon is silently rising, the trees stand like statues of saints
The city turns her lights on, until it looks like a box full of paints
And the vision, it’s there... through the window
A routine vision, a routine window, a routine apartment quite late
A man down, on his knees, to pray

The Destination
02:58
|
|||
You can run you can run but it won't be fast or far enough
You can cry you can cry but your tears don't change a thing
You can hope you can hope but hopes don't add up to anything
You can talk you can talk but talk my friend is cheap
You are naked up on the tightrope
You’ll be crossing, the grand canyon
Weather forecast, thunder and lightning
Tell me, what gift did you bring?
You can dive you can dive but it's never going to be deep enough
The ocean stretches far, far, from this place
There's nothing for you here, and you'll just have to get used to it
There are no answers and yes, the clock is running down
You have reached the peak of the summit
Looking down at the pit of the bottom
This is it, the destination
Tell me, what gift did you bring?
You can run you can run
You can cry you can cry
You can talk you can talk
What gift did you bring?
